Welcome to Pet Adoption Fund, Canoga Park, CA.
Founded in 1983, Pet Adoption Fund is the largest private Non-Profit No-Kill Rescue Organization in Southern California.

Pet Adoption Fund is the largest private Non-Profit No-Kill
Rescue Organization in Southern California, founded in 1983.
We are staffed primarily by volunteers, and exist solely on private donations and adoption fees. Our mission is to rescue, shelter,
and find loving permanent homes for the many wonderful, yet previously abandoned, neglected or abused companion animals.
On the average, our facility houses around 175 dogs and 60 cats,
of all sizes, ages and breeds; and all are anxiously awa
iting for
their chance to great homes.

Adoption Policy:
All of our pets are spayed or neutered.
We will conduct an interview to insure that the dog's needs will be met, and that you understand the responsibilities of owning a pet.
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone, and to conduct an inspection of the residence where the pet will reside.
Due to Breed Specific Legislation, and weight restriction, if you do rent your residence, you will be asked to check with your landlord before you are able to take a pet home, in order to avoid unnecessary and devastating returns, and loss of fees paid.
You will also be required to read and sign an adoption agreement form, and to pay a predetermined, tax deductible adoption fee, which varies with age, size, and breed.

You must be over the age of 21, with a valid California ID.
Southern California adoptions only. Exceptions are made on occasions.

Donations:
Our shelter is in need of newspapers, blankets, comforters, rugs, sheets, towels, cat and dog toys, beds and baskets of any size, cat towers, crates, steel food bowls, brushes and combs, dog and cat food (wet). All donations are greatly appreciated, and help enhance kennel living while our pets are awaiting for their new homes.

Your donations help us save lives

Monetary contributions are also desperately needed, to assist us with the on-going veterinary care expense. Thank you so much for your contributions.

Fostering:

We are in desperate need of volunteers who will foster kittens and puppies. If you are interested, please call Lori at (818) 317-6191. She will explain what needs to be done, and assist in their placements. If you've never been a foster parent...it is the most rewarding experience ever.

Rescue Stories:

Dante was found tied up on a local freeway, unable to walk due to major trauma to his hips and legs. He appeared emaciated, scared, with visible signs of neglect. Dante is now residing with us while awaiting for his second chance to a better life. He is recovering nicely, and is now ready for a new leash on life.
