Update on Thunder as of 04/01/13:
Thunder had his surgery, and is recovering nicely. He does not care much for the cone he has to wear around the neck, but he must obey the doctor's orders. He has a follow up visit next week, so hopefully the cone can come off...yeah!!! Thunder sends his love and his gratitude to all.

pawMeet Thunder

Thunder is a gorgeous large Shepherd mix, who lost his home at a very young age, and has been calling PAF home for many years. Being a long time resident of our no-kill shelter, the only joy left in his life is his daily walks with his favorite volunteers. Unfortunately, due to his recent injury, his only joy is no longer, as his mobility has been severely compromised.

Thunder's injury has been diagnosed as an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) rupture, which is a torn ligament inside the knee, causing instability and pain, and can cause permanent damage to the knee if left untreated.

The condition will require surgical correction, which is a costly procedure, around $3000, but will help Thunder regain his mobility, and ultimately get his joy back again.

The costs of the surgery will include the anesthesia, surgical implant for stability, the surgery, imaging, medication and aftercare.

Please consider making a tax deductible donation to Thunder's cause (no amount is too small), and help us bring his smile and his joy back to him again. Thank you!
